Getting started
This guide takes you from installing Appolar in your Shopify admin to your first build submitted to the App Store and Play Store. The whole path, in order. Typical time to a submitted app is one focused afternoon plus store review.
1. Install Appolar in Shopify
Install Appolar from the Shopify App Store. One click, authorize, and you are in. Appolar reads your store details, collections, and product catalog automatically. There are no API keys or webhooks to wire by hand.
From the App Store
Find Appolar in the Shopify App Store and click Install. It works on any plan, including Basic.
Authorize access
Approve the scopes. Appolar uses read access to your catalog and the Appolar sales channel.
Heads up. Nothing in your existing store setup changes. Appolar reads your catalog and hands checkout back to Shopify, so your theme, apps, and orders keep working exactly as they do today.
2. Pick a starter preset
Open the builder from your Shopify admin and load a starting point. Atlas is the stock theme, a warm-neutral editorial baseline. There are 40 starter themes in total, and every value is editable after you load one.
- Atlas, the stock theme, fits almost any catalog
- 39 niche-tuned themes across fashion, beauty, fitness, home, food, tech, and hobbies
- Every theme ships its own home layout, palette, and typography
3. Set your theme tokens
Theme tokens are the small set of values that flow through the whole app. Change a token once and every screen that uses it updates in the live preview.
Brand color
A single accent color flows through buttons, links, badges, and highlights. Paste a hex value or pick from the swatches. The live preview reflects it instantly, no refresh.
Font family
Choose from 10 curated Google fonts. There are no uploads to manage, which keeps your app fast and avoids font licensing headaches.
4. Connect your developer accounts
Your app is submitted under your own Apple and Google accounts, not ours. You own the listing, the reviews, and the users. Appolar uses scoped service keys only and never sees your raw passwords.
Apple Developer
$99 per year, about 10 minutes to set up. We walk you through it if you need it.
Google Play Console
$25 one-time, about 5 minutes. Scoped keys only, revocable any time.
You stay in control. The keys you grant are scoped and can be revoked from your developer accounts whenever you want. Uninstall Appolar later and your published app keeps running.
5. Trigger your first build
When the design is ready, hit Build & Submit in the admin. Appolar compiles your app from exactly what you built in the builder and QA tests it on real iOS and Android devices, not simulators. You get notified at each milestone.
6. Submit to the stores
Appolar submits to the App Store and Play Store under your accounts and your bundle ID. From there the remaining wait is Apple and Google review time. Once approved, your app is live, owned entirely by you.
That is the whole loop. The rest of these docs go deeper into the workflows you will touch every week: theme tokens, per-screen layouts, push notifications, and analytics.
