Quick help
Getting started
Install Appolar from the Shopify App Store. The visual builder opens inside your admin. Start from the Atlas stock theme, pick one of 6 theme presets (Atlas, Block, Bloom, Pace, Surge, Verdant), set your brand colors and font, arrange your per-screen layouts. Save the draft. The live preview matches what ships.
Apple Developer setup
You need an Apple Developer Program membership (paid to Apple directly). In Appolar's Credentials page, paste your App Store Connect API key (.p8), Team ID, and Issuer ID. We encrypt these with AES-256-GCM and use them only to submit builds on your behalf.
Google Play setup
You need a Google Play Console account (one-time fee paid to Google directly). Generate a service account JSON in Google Cloud Console, paste it into Appolar’s Credentials page. Same encryption applies.
Triggering a build
From the Appolar admin, hit 'Build & submit'. Appolar packages your design config into the app, compiles signed .ipa and .aab binaries, and submits them to App Store Connect and Play Console under your developer accounts. Builds typically finish in 10–25 minutes per platform.
Themes and layout presets
Appolar ships the Atlas stock theme, 6 theme presets (Atlas, Block, Bloom, Pace, Surge, Verdant), and 20 named layout presets across 5 screens. Load one to seed your colors, fonts, and per-screen layouts. Every value is editable after loading, so you're not locked into anything.
Push notifications
Compose pushes (title, body, optional image) in the Notifications page of the Appolar admin. Send now or schedule for later. Pushes are delivered via APNs and FCM. Device tokens are scoped per store — your shoppers’ devices only receive your store’s pushes.
Privacy
Apple/Google developer credentials are encrypted at rest. The Postgres database is bound to localhost (no public exposure). The platform never sells data or runs ad networks. Full data flow on the Privacy page.
Uninstall & data deletion
Uninstall Appolar from the Shopify admin at any time. Billing stops immediately. 48 hours later, Shopify fires shop/redact and we delete all your store's data (config, credentials, build history, device tokens). The app binaries already published to the stores stay live under your developer accounts.
FAQ
Is the mobile app a webview wrapper?
No. Appolar builds real native apps that talk directly to the Shopify Storefront API. The product grids, cart, search, and checkout handoff are all native. The only webview involved is the final Shopify checkout step, which uses Shopify’s hosted checkout (same as their official mobile SDKs).
Do I own the app binary?
Yes. The .ipa and .aab are submitted under your Apple Developer and Google Play accounts, with your bundle ID, your store listing, your icons, and your name on the App Store. If you uninstall Appolar later, those binaries continue to live on the stores. You’ll just need an active subscription to ship new builds and updates.
How long does App Store / Play Store review take?
Out of our hands. Apple App Review is typically 24–48 hours for an initial submission; Google Play is usually faster for first publish. Updates are typically reviewed within hours. Appolar can’t influence review timing or outcomes.
Can I customize beyond the builder?
The builder exposes every layout choice (theme, fonts, per-screen layouts, tab visibility, home page blocks, push, integrations). Presets are starting points, not constraints. For anything outside that surface, reach out at support@appolar.com.
Can I run multiple stores under one account?
Each Shopify store install creates its own isolated Appolar configuration. There’s no concept of a “parent account” across stores — install Appolar on each store you want to ship an app for. Same developer accounts and Apple Team ID can be reused across them.
