Is Appolar a webview wrapper?

No. Every Appolar app is a real compiled app submitted directly to the App Store and Play Store. Apple Pay, Google Pay, push notifications, and deep links all run natively.

Do I need to know any code?

No. Everything from theme tokens to per-screen layouts to push campaigns is edited visually inside the Shopify admin. The only requirement outside Appolar is having an Apple Developer Program and Google Play Console account in your own name.

How long until I have a published app?

The Appolar side is fast: start from a preset, adjust it in the builder, and trigger a build with one click. The longer pole is the parts we do not control, namely your brand-asset prep and Apple and Google review. Apple publicly states that 90% of submissions are reviewed within 24 hours, but plan for longer on a first submission.

Can I try Appolar before I commit?

Yes. Installation from the Shopify App Store is free; billing only starts the first time you click Build my app. You can configure your store, preview the app, and walk through the entire builder without being charged.

How much does Appolar cost?

Starter is free and gives you the full builder with live preview. Pro is $79/month, Ultra is $199/month, and Lifetime is a one-time $997 with $79 per build for updates. Details are on the pricing page. No per-install fees and no revenue share.

Are there per-install fees or a revenue share?

No. Whether you have 100 installs or 100,000, the platform fee is flat. We have a strong opinion that install-tax pricing punishes the brands that succeed with us.

Who am I billed by?

Shopify. Appolar uses Shopify Billing, which means your Appolar charges appear on the same Shopify invoice as the rest of your apps and themes — no separate credit card to manage.

Do I need an Apple Developer / Google Play account?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Apple charges $99/year for the Developer Program and Google charges a one-time $25 for Play Console. Both are paid by you directly to Apple and Google, not through Appolar.

Can I cancel any time?

Yes. Uninstall Appolar from your Shopify admin and billing stops immediately. Your existing app binaries stay on the App Store and Play Store under your developer accounts; you just stop receiving updates and new builds.

Can I customize every screen?

Yes. Every screen in the app is a stack of blocks — hero, product list, image slider, FAQ, push opt-in, tabs, and more. You pick which blocks go on each screen and edit their props, all live, with a phone preview docked to the builder.

Can I use my own fonts?

No, by design. Appolar ships ten curated Google Fonts that we license, embed, and test on real devices. Custom uploads create licensing exposure for merchants and we won't pass that risk on.

Who owns the App Store listing?

You do. The listing is created under your Apple Developer Program and Google Play Console accounts. If you ever leave Appolar, the listings, reviews, ratings, and install graph stay with you.

What happens if Apple or Google rejects my app?

Accepted Answer

You forward us the rejection and we work it with you. The platform is built against the common rejection causes (Privacy Manifest, App Tracking Transparency strings, payment rules), and when a rejection does land, the fix ships from our side and we resubmit. You are dealing directly with the person who built the pipeline, not a ticket queue.

Can I move from Tapcart, GoodBarber, or Vajro?

Yes, with honest expectations: there is no automated import. You rebuild your screens in the Appolar builder, which the layout presets make quick. Because your app ships under your own developer accounts, your existing listing, reviews, and ratings can stay with you through an App Store transfer, and we will talk you through that process by email.

Does Appolar work with Shopify Plus?

Yes, a Plus store works like any other Shopify store: install the app, design, and build. One app per store. There is no multi-store or multi-region build product today, so a portfolio of stores means one Appolar app per storefront.

Does the app use the same checkout as my web store?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Checkout hands off to Shopify Checkout natively. Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, and the express checkout buttons your customers already trust all work. Order, customer, and payment data lives in Shopify, not Appolar.

Will I lose Shopify analytics if I add the app?

Accepted Answer

No. App orders show up in Shopify Analytics under the Appolar sales channel. You can segment by channel in any Shopify report. Web and app revenue stay in one dashboard.

How does inventory sync work?

Appolar reads inventory live from the Shopify Storefront API on every product view. There's no nightly sync to drift out of date — when a customer hits the PDP, the stock value they see is whatever Shopify reports at that moment.

Do you support subscriptions and bundles?

Not natively today. Because checkout hands off to your real Shopify Checkout, anything your checkout already sells can be purchased in the app, but there is no dedicated in-app rendering for subscription apps like Recharge, Bold, or Skio, and no native bundle builder. If this matters to your store, tell us; it shapes the roadmap.

Email support at support@appolar.com on every paid plan, answered by the founder who built the platform. Ultra plans get priority handling and white-glove onboarding. There is no call center and no ticket queue: you write to the one person who can actually fix things.

Where is my data stored?

Accepted Answer

Builder configuration, push tokens, and encrypted developer credentials live in PostgreSQL on a Hostinger KVM VPS. Catalog, customers, orders, and payment data stay in Shopify. App binaries are compiled and delivered directly to your developer accounts.

How are developer credentials secured?

Apple App Store Connect API keys and Google Play service-account JSON are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM before they touch the database. Raw key material never sits in plaintext.

Do you have SSO and SLA?

No. There is no SAML SSO and no signed SLA. Access to the builder is governed by your Shopify admin login, which is where staff permissions already live. We would rather tell you that plainly than sell you an enterprise checkbox that does not exist.
